Deportivo La Coruna

The Royal Sports Club of Corunna, known in Spain as "Real Club Deportivo de La Coruña", is a Spanishfootball club located in A Coruña (Galicia).
In 1902 José María Abalo returned to his hometown, a Coruña, after studying in
England and introduced football to the locals. In 1904 Abalo and his friends formed a football team called Coruna. The game became even more popular when members of a professional gymnasium called Sala Calvet became aware of football and began to practice this new sport. In 1906 the members of Sala Calvet gymnasium created their own team called Club Deportivo de la Sala Calvet. Two years later the club was given the mark of royalty by King Alfonso XIII and was renamed Real Club Deportivo de La Coruña. The team competed in various leagues in Galicia and outside for two decades until 1928, when the Spanish league was formed. Deportivo did not qualify for the first division (Primera División) and therefore played in the second division (Segunda División). Deportivo remained in the second division until they eliminated Real Madrid from the Copa Del Rey and were promoted to the first division in 1928. Coruña has gone through ups and downs, many defeats but also epic triumphs. The team's greatest moment was winning their first Champions League title in 1999-2000.
The team's customary home kit includes a blue and white striped jersey, blue shorts, and blue socks. Their current away kit consists of a black jersey, black shorts, and black socks.
