The English national football team represents England in international football tournaments and is managed by The Football Association, which is the main body for football in England.  Each of the four Home Nations which make up the United Kingdom are each represented separately in most international tournaments.
England's national team is one of the more victorious football teams, being one of only seven countries to ever win the FIFA World Cup (in 1966 when they hosted the finals). They defeated West Germany 4-2 in over time in the Final. Since then, they have only reached the semi-finals once, but were defeated by West Germany on penalties. Even so, they remain an important team in international football, rarely dropping outside of the top ten places of both FIFA and ELO rankings. England also reached the semi-final of the UEFA European Championship twice (in 1968 and 1996). They were the most successful team of the four Home Nations in the British Home Championship, before the competition was suspended in 1984. The national team's greatest rivals have been Scotland for a very long time, who competed against in the first-ever international football match in 1872. However, since regular games against Scotland came to an end in the late 1980s, there have been newer rivalries (Argentina and Germany). England's plays its home games at the Wembley Stadium in London. 
England's home kit is comprised of a white jerseys, navy shorts and white socks. The away kit includes red shirts, white shorts and red socks.
